Spiritual Life

On Tuesday, October 6 we will be having our Fall Parent Prayer Day. This is a time when you as parents have the opportunity to come together and prayer walk FLEC's campus and intercede on behalf of our families, students, and staff.

We will be having this event twice on the same day:

1) @ 8:15 am in the gym
2) @ 6:30 pm in the library (main building)

So we invite you to come out and lift up our school in prayer and experience the power of God's richest blessings and miracles!

Think Orange is a strategy created by Pastor Reggie Joiner that unites the lighthouse of the church (in this case, the school) with the heart of the family (red) to create orange. With these two forces combined, the school and family working together, they make a significant impact on our youth. We want to work together with you as a family to help our students develop a lifelong passion for God, for others, and for service.

Spiritual Life at FLEC exists to help our students fulfill the great commandment of life as expressed by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind….and love your neighbor as yourself.” Every Friday during chapel students hear relevant biblical teaching, engage in a fun worship environment, and lead out in music, prayer, or speaking. We also utilize our student drama ministry to relay the message of the Bible in a fun and creative way.

We seek to develop lifelong disciples of Jesus who are passionate about their faith. In this way we help fulfill another great commandment of Jesus and what He calls us to be, found in Matthew 28:19 and Acts 1:8, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations'…and ‘You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.'”

Elementary School Chapel Series

Initiative is seeing what needs to be done and doing it. Initiative isn't just some practical principle; it's really a spiritual principle that starts with God. Initiative is part of God's character. God took initiative on or behalf. When God saw our brokwn relationship with Him, He sent Jesus to make it right. When we show initiative, we are reflecting God's image that is hardwired in us.

To dive deeper into initiative, we're heading back to the Old Testament to talk more about on of the greatest examples of someone taking initiative-a man by the name of Nehemiah. This month, we'll break down the story of Nehemiah into four segmnts that will give kids into this idea of initiative.

SERIES PREVIEW

Winning is fun, isn’t it? No one ever starts a basketball game hoping to lose. We don’t go to band practice because we want to take last place in our competition. We don’t start a video game wanting our character to be elliminated first. No way. We play to win. Why? Because winning is awesome. It feels great. In fact, sports and video games probably aren’t the only place you want to be a winner. Do you want to be successful when it comes to school? Sure! How about money? Your future? Friendships? You probably answered “all of the above”. Basically we all want to win at life. And while there’s no way to guarantee you will win in every area, there are some things you can do to help you get there. In fact, there’s an entire book in the Bible, the book of Proverbs, dedicated to giving solid advice that can help us win at life. During this series, we’ll take a look at five verses from Proverbs that can set you up for the win in the areas you care about the most.
